A suspected drug dealer was seriously injured after falling from the seventh floor of his condominium building as he attempted to escape a police raid early yesterday morning.
Major Sansern Klomkasem of Metropolitan Police Division 9, who led the raid, said Chart Pailard, 30, was seriously injured after he fell from a 30cm ledge outside of the room he rented at Orchid Condominium in Sathorn district at 2:45am yesterday.
Sansern said that when police knocked on Chart’s door to search his apartment, Chart left through a window, but lost his balance on the outer ledge and fell to the ground.
Sansern alleged that a police investigation found that Chart and his wife, Prasaisamorn Pailard, sold methamphetamine pills, which they bought from a distributor in the slums of Klong Toey.
Sansern said that an undercover policeman had arranged to buy 100 pills from the couple, agreeing to pickup the drugs from their room.
Sansern said he led a team of police to raid the room at the time the couple was scheduled to deliver the drugs and found 100 methamphetamine pills inside the room.
Prasaisamorn was inside the room at the time of the raid and was arrested.
